Outdoors there are no walls to push sound back at your crowd — it just leaves. The same 200 people in a field need noticeably more system than they would in a room. Most outdoor events in Texas are under-specced. Ours aren't.
Outdoors eats
your sound.
Indoors, every wall, floor and ceiling reflects energy back toward your audience. You get that reinforcement for free — which is why a modest system can fill a room. Take the same system into a field and all that energy keeps going until it's gone. Low frequencies suffer worst.
Then Texas adds its own variables: heat, humidity and a wind shift right around the time the sun goes down that can move your sound off the crowd entirely. This is why outdoor events are the ones where a live engineer earns their fee — it's not a set-and-forget situation.
No Reflections
The free reinforcement you get indoors is simply absent. Everything you hear outdoors comes straight from the boxes.
Low End Vanishes
Bass suffers most in open air. Outdoor events need more subwoofer than the same crowd would indoors, every time.
Wind Shift
Sound rides the air. A breeze coming up at sunset can move your coverage off the crowd within minutes.
Heat + Humidity
Central Texas air changes how high frequencies travel between load-in and headliner. A live engineer tracks it.

Why does an outdoor event need a bigger sound system?
Indoors, walls and ceilings reflect sound energy back toward your audience, effectively making the system louder for free. Outdoors that reinforcement does not exist, so the same headcount needs meaningfully more system — especially subwoofers, since low frequencies lose the most.
How many people can you cover outdoors?
The full Turbosound Floodlight system is rated for roughly 1,000 people, and outdoors is exactly what it was built for. Smaller outdoor events get a scaled configuration — still specced for open air rather than borrowed from an indoor chart.
What happens if it rains?
We plan for it. Tents, covered stages or a rain call defined in advance. Talk to us early about your weather plan — professional audio and standing water is the one situation where the answer has to be no.
Will the sound carry to my neighbors?
Low frequencies travel furthest and generate the complaints. We can aim and configure the low end so it lands on your crowd rather than the property line, which is usually the difference between finishing your event and having it shut down.
Do you need power at the site?
Yes, and it needs to be adequate and stable. Tell us what the property has — standard outlets, a sub-panel, or nothing — and we will tell you what is required, including whether a generator makes sense.
Do you cover ranch and Hill Country venues?
Constantly. Dripping Springs, Driftwood, Wimberley, San Marcos and the surrounding Hill Country properties are core territory. Have sound, will travel.
