The Lost Pines
Bastrop is the heart of the Lost Pines, the westernmost stand of southern pine forest in the state. Bastrop State Park sits on the town’s eastern edge, and Lake Bastrop is three miles northeast. Events under tall pines sound different: trunks scatter sound rather than reflect it, and open lawn between tree lines carries it a long way. We tune on-site for the space.
The 2011 fire and the rebuilt woods
The 2011 Bastrop County Complex Fire destroyed 1,691 homes and remains the most destructive wildfire in Texas history. It shapes how the community talks about outdoor events, and a lot of venues and property owners have specific rules about fire safety. If your event involves an open flame, pyrotechnics or a fire pit, check with the property and the county first.
Riverwalk and Christmas
The June Hill Pape Riverwalk becomes a light display during Lost Pines Christmas, which runs for about a month in downtown Bastrop, including a Wassail Fest. Holiday parties and office gatherings nearby need clear voices and a low background mix.
Homecoming, rodeo and the Music Festival
The Bastrop Homecoming & Rodeo has been held in July since 1947, and the Bastrop Music Festival takes over several venues in late September. These are organized events with their own teams. If you are hosting a reunion, class party or after-party around either, send us the address early.

Bastrop has the Bastrop Convention & Exhibit Center (about 26,000 square feet, with flexible ballrooms and patios), the Mansion at ColoVista on 700 acres above the Colorado River, riverfront venues such as Willow Riverside, and historic bed-and-breakfasts. Bastrop ISD, the Bastrop County government, MD Anderson, the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and several of Elon Musk’s companies (The Boring Company headquarters, a SpaceX facility and X’s headquarters) are among the area’s employers. Getting to Bastrop
