Georgetown is the county seat of Williamson County, 26 to 30 miles north of downtown Austin on I-35. The 2020 census counted 67,176 people, and a 2025 estimate is above 106,000.

The courthouse square calendar
Georgetown’s square hosts the Red Poppy Festival each April, with more than 150 artisan vendors and a Saturday night concert and street dance, the Christmas Stroll on the first Saturday of December, and Market Days on the second Saturday of each month from March through November. The city runs those. What we get asked for is everything around them: a private party the night before, a rehearsal dinner, a reunion in a nearby restaurant space.
Weddings in a historic town
Georgetown has three National Register historic districts and a notable range of Victorian commercial and residential architecture, so old buildings and courtyards are common wedding backdrops. Southwestern University
Southwestern University, founded in 1840 and called the oldest university in Texas, is in Georgetown. Orientation events, alumni weekends and graduations bring visitors in, and off-campus parties and receptions are where a private rig makes sense. Small indoor receptions need two tops and two mics, not subs.
Parks and the water
Georgetown has Blue Hole Park, San Gabriel Park, Berry Springs Park, Inner Space Cavern and Lake Georgetown. Public parks require reservations and have their own rules about amplified sound, so confirm with the city before you plan a party at one. On private lakefront or park-adjacent property, remember that sound carries further over water and open ground.
Old buildings, power and load-in
Georgetown also calls itself the first Texas city to run entirely on renewable energy, but the practical power question for an event is smaller: how many circuits the venue has and where they are. Older courthouse-square buildings often have few, so tell us the outlets and breaker limits when you book and we plan cable runs around them.
Employers and civic events
Williamson County government, Georgetown ISD, the City of Georgetown, St. David’s Hospital and the university are the big local employers. Retirement dinners, awards nights and staff parties are typical jobs that need a clean voice PA more than a party rig. We can add a sound engineer to run it.
Getting to Georgetown
