Pflugerville is about 14 miles northeast of downtown Austin, mostly in Travis County with a small part in Williamson County. The 2020 census counted 65,191 residents. The name comes from a German settler family, and the city’s motto is “Willkommen.”

That German heritage is more than trivia here: it drives the city’s biggest events and the spelling of most of its festivals.

Deutschen Pfest and the German roots

Deutschen Pfest is the city’s annual German-heritage festival at Pfluger Park, running since 1976 with live music, food and beer, a steinholding challenge and the Pfun Run. German Day in Pflugerville dates back to 1910. Those are city events with their own crews. The city also runs a Fourth of July Pfirecracker Pfestival with a parade, music and fireworks, and the Slice of Pflugerville Cultural Festival, which highlights food and performances from different cultures. Neighbors often host their own cookouts around both. For a cookout of 100 to 150, Getting Bumping is plenty.

Lake Pflugerville and the parks

Lake Pflugerville is a 180-acre reservoir, Pfluger Park runs along Gilleland Creek, and Northeast Metropolitan Park covers 349 acres, alongside 1849 Park. Public parks require a reservation and follow city rules on amplified sound. If your event is on private land near the lake, remember sound travels over open water, so we aim speakers away from the shore and the neighbors.

Stone Hill Town Center and Typhoon Texas

Stone Hill Town Center is the shopping and dining hub, and Typhoon Texas is the water park (formerly Hawaiian Falls). Company outings and birthday groups often gather after a day at either. We do not set up inside a commercial property without the owner’s permission, so if you are planning to, ask management first.

Amazon and the employer calendar

Pflugerville added an Amazon distribution center, about 1,000 jobs, and other logistics and lab employers. Shift parties, appreciation days and holiday gatherings in warehouses and parking lots are typical. We keep speakers off dock doors and set level for a big open space.

The East Main Street Historic District

The East Main Street Historic District is the older core of town. Small gatherings there, like rehearsal dinners, need modest levels, and we point speakers away from windows and homes.

Getting to Pflugerville

FM 1825 (Pecan Street) runs through town, with SH 130 on the east side and SH 45 to the south, and I-35 nearby. We route load-in to avoid the Pecan Street and SH 130 rush. Round Rock is next door, and Manor and Hutto are short drives east. See the Austin area list.
